Entabeni Game Reserve is situated on more than 10000 hectares of beautiful scenery and vegetation, compromising bushveld, unspoilt ravines and wooded hillsides that are haven to the Big Five and a large variety of game.
Extending from Entabeni’s spectacular Hanglip in the east, the Waterberg mountain range stretches over 150 km. Today the Waterberg is one of South Africa’s last great wildernesses, and one of it’s major advantages is a malaria free environment.
The award winning 11 000ha Entabeni Game Reserve is situated in the magnificent, malaria free Waterberg, a comfortable 3 hrs drive from Johannesburg.
Unique features of this area include spectacular scenery consisting of grasslands surrounded by mountains, a 1,5km long lake, a 2000ft escarpment, diverse wildlife and Big 5 game viewing.
The Game Reserve reflects the rich variety of the Waterberg’s terrain and its attendant diversity of flora. The 2000 ft sheer escarpment divides the reserve into a higher and lower area with two different ecological systems.
Passing down through the breathtaking Yellowwood Gorge, the road twists down the escarpment between cliffs, waterfalls and forests. At the foot of the escarpment you enter a warmer climate with sandveld-vegetation, dense bush, plains and a series of wetlands – a birdwatcher’s paradise.
