Leopard Mountain Game Lodge is a natural heritage site set in a private game reserve of pristine wilderness located between Hluhluwe and Mkuze Game Reserves within easy reach of Ndumo, Kosi Bay, Sodwana, Lake Sibaya and the St Lucia wetlands.
We have numerous easy walks and exciting horse rides on the reserve, that take you through unspoiled bushveld, well-stocked with rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, impala, nyala, kudu, warthog, ostrich etc.
There are 8kms of river walks winding through indigenous forest filled with prolific bird life. All game walks (and drives) undertaken on the reserve are done so with a guide and are included in the overnight rate.
The main lodge features a very comfortable dining room, bar, lounge and deck area. Other amenities include a unique rock swimming pool, mountain bike trails and 4x4 routes in the area.
Your luxurious stone and thatch chalet provides a haven of peace and tranquility where you can watch the sun and moon rise over the magnificent Lebombo Mountain range.

You can visit the world's greatest Black Rhino and White Rhino reserves, or snorkel and scuba dive on the world famous Sodwana reefs, or go tiger-fishing on Lake Josini.
Rooms All of our accommodation is luxurious - nine stone and thatch chalets nestled on the cliff top overlooking the Umsunduze river below and the distant Lebombo mountains.
Each chalet has it's own private deck with hammock, bathroom ensuite, incredible views, mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, small lounge area and of course twin beds - family rooms have bunks as well.
There is no air conditioning in the chalets but very high 'semi open' ceilings with overhead fans (all closed off with mosquito meshing).
Activities We have over 8 kms of river trails with a wide variety of tree species including Sycamore Figs, Combretums and Weeping Farmer Bean trees hosting birds such as Green Pigeon, Purple-crested Loerie, Trumpeter Hornbills and many raptors.
Leave the beaten track behind as you safely venture into the African bush on a Mountain Bike.
Enjoy an exciting ride on horseback through the game reserve together with our experienced guides and get to know all the creatures of the African savanna.
The lodge also offers game drives to Hluhuluwe-Umfolozi and Mkuze Game Parks, visits to a traditional Zulu village, tiger-fishing and scuba diving at Sodwana.
How to get there The Lodge is 34kms north of Hluhluwe town and 19km South of Mkuze town, 13km of good dirt road off the N2 on road D464 - clearly signposted. |
